Welcome To American Legion Post 195 - Lugoff, SC
Welcome to the website of American Legion Post 195! We are a local post of the American Legion, a national organization dedicated to serving veterans and their families.
The American Legion was founded in 1919 by Congress as a patriotic veterans organization, and since then it has grown to become the largest and most influential veterans' organization in the United States.
At the core of our mission is the commitment to provide support, resources, and advocacy for veterans of all eras, as well as their families and the communities in which we live. The American Legion is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works tirelessly to ensure that the sacrifices made by our veterans are recognized, honored, and remembered.
As members of the American Legion, we take pride in serving our communities in a variety of ways. We support youth programs such as Boys State and Girls State, which provides leadership and citizenship training for high school students. We also offer scholarships for students and provide support for veteran services such as the Big Red Barn Retreat, service dogs for veterans, Habitat for Humanity supporting veterans, and other services in the community.
In addition to these programs, we are committed to advocating for veterans' issues on the local, state, and national levels. The American Legion works to ensure that veterans receive the benefits they have earned through their service, including healthcare, education, and housing. We also advocate for policies that promote job opportunities and economic security for veterans and their families.
At American Legion Post 195, we are proud to continue this legacy of service and advocacy for America and the veterans in our community. We invite all veterans, their families, and those who support our mission to join us in our efforts. Together, we can ensure that the sacrifices made by our veterans are never forgotten, and that their legacy of service and sacrifice is passed on to future generations.
